Stephen Lake

Stephen began paddling while attending high school at Sir Oliver Mowat S.S. in Toronto, ON. Under the leadership of Scott Madil, the school has held a dragonboat dynasty in the high school category , regularly finishing 1-2-3 at local festivals. After high school, Stephen got involved as a coach with UWDBC at its inception, in 2008. Stephen paddled at the 2009 World Dragon Boat Championships as a member of Team Canada U23 and brought back a collection of Gold and Silver medals. In the Summer of 2010, Stephen paddled with the PDBC U23 crew and brought back medals from the World Club Crew Championships in Macau.

Ricky Tjandra

Ricky was introduced to the sport of Dragon Boat during his last year at Sir Oliver Mowat C.I, paddling with the Mowat 'Gaels' and the Mowat 'Mossmen' alongside some of the best high school paddlers in Ontario. He was also fortunate enough to be a part of the Team Canada Juniors and paddle at the 2009 World Dragon Boat Championships, bringing home 3 medals. He took on the role of UWDBC President from George Wang at the beginning of his second year with UWDBC. Ricky is currently training in order be a part of Team Canada u23 for the 2011 World Dragon Boat Championships in Tampa Bay, FL.

Corinne Hanlon


Corinne began paddling when she joined UWDBC in the Fall 2009 term. Through a strong drive and competitive nature, she quickly progressed to racing at an international level at the Club Crew World Championships 2010 in Macau with PDBC U23. She is currently training for the 2011 World Dragon Boat Championships in Tampa Bay, Fl.
